Congress has passed an amazing opportunity for first time homebuyers! In the Denver area first time buyers can take a credit against their taxes up to $8000! With prices down and low interest rates, affordability in Denver is the best it has been since 2000. Now with this tax credit there has never been a better time to buy. First time buyers are defined as not owning a home in the last 3 years. Buyers must buy between 1-1-09 and 12-1-09 and own the home for 3 years to get the full credit. This credit does not have to be repaid unlike the credit passed for 2008 which required a repayment over 3 years. There are income restrictions.
